| The objectives are to initiate 3 innovative
ideas for integrating electronic resources into subject area standards.
I will create, with the computer teacher and parent committee a school web site. Teachers will each have a bulletin board on the site and update this monthly. Seventh and eighth grade students will post the notices on the site. A workshop for the teachers in the use of computers for a school web site will be conducted. Through a possible grant, I will help the computer teacher implement a financial planning curriculum for grades 1-8. I will initiate a committee of students and
parents to create a school video magazine.
These projects will begin in September and October.
I have created a school computer committee to study the school's computer needs, funding, and curriculum. I have created a school video magazine committee of parents who will take videos of school and church events to be edited into one school video in April. This video will be sold to students to cover the cost of production. I have created a committee to help establish a school web site. A former student is helping to create this site. We have our site under construction and hope to be published in November. For the third area of technology, I have initiated a class newsletter,
published weekly. The students type what they have been learning
for the week on the classroom computer, and save it on a disk. The
disk is then taked to the computer lab to be printed out and distributed
to each student in the class. My second grade have published their
first newsletter. I hope to have the other homerooms join in this
effort so it will be done school-wide.
