The objectives are to design a survey to collect data that addresses concern, analyse the data, and prepare an executive summary.

I will write a needs survey to parents to collect information on their expertise and availability to help or serve on the computer committee, school web site committee, career day committee, and blood screening committee.

This will be completed in early September and mailed out to parents in school mailing.

A  Parent Need Survey was given to the oldest child in each family.  Out of 206 forms sent to the homes, 82 were returned with 77 parents volunteering to be on one or more of the six committees. The six areas of need were:

  • Computer Committee - to discuss goals, funding, and school technology needs. (8 volunteered)
  • Grant Study Committee - to search for and research possible grant proposals.  (6 volunteered)
  • School Web Site Committee - to contribute items for the school web site.  (5 volunteered)
  • Career Day Volunteers - to come to school and share with the students their career.  (27 volunteered)
  • Community Blood Screening Volunteers - to help set up and run a blood screening/drive.    (24 volunteered)
  • School Video Magazine - to video various school and church events to contribute to a video.   (7 volunteered)

Letters were sent to all volunteers. Chairpersons were appointed. All projects and committees are actively working on their projects.

These projects correspond with the Grant Proposal project, the Technology project, the School into Community/Service project, and the School Highlight on Student Learning project.

An executive summary report was written.
