I will meet with my principal and discuss a recent legal issue. Because of the nature of the private school, there may not be one.  I will meet with a public school principal and contrast and compare this with any findings from the private school.

     I met with Mr. Skubak, Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic School and discussed a recent legal issue.  The concern weas over giving medications to students.  With the increase of students needing medications during school hours, and the limited nursing service provided at the school (two hours a week), who should dispense drugs was a concern.  Legal council advised that it was not wise that the teachers give the medications, for the legal safety of the individual teachers.
The school secretary became the designated  person to dispense these drugs. The parents of these students must fill out a Medication Guideline Form from the public school district, Westmont Hilltop, and also complete the OMOS Medication Policy form.  Private schools in Pennsylvania must agree to follow public school code in this area in order to be certified.

     I have not been able to find a public school case.
