Standards and Assessment Handbook

The objectives for The Design Assessment and Standards Handbook are to enable teachers to know more about national and state standards and curricular implications and useful student assessments.

I would like to tie this into our schools evaluation and assessment procedure, the Middle-states Evaluation, which we will be doing this school year.  The teacher handbook would include; a mission statement for the school, and new student assessments including the use of rubrics and benchmarks.

I will compare these to plans in the public school system.

This is to be completed according to the time line of the evaluation procedure, possibly ongoing for the months of September through March.

I am on the committee for our school's evaluation procedure.  One meeting has been held.
We are completing the short version of the evaluation including  areas on reading, and technology.
I will be writing a handbook, concentrating on these areas, during this procedure.  Our school philosophy will also be looked at and possibly revised.  A misson statement may be included.

I have obtained, and reviewed a curriculum standards, assessment, and instruction kit from the public schools.  I will compare these standards with those in my private school setting.
